Day 19 Wednesday August 25, 2010 Gorham, New Hampshire traveling to Vermont, then back to New Hampshire
We traveled 260 miles today
Happy birthday to my room mate Bill. We are going to breakfast at the hotel today. It is 8:00 AM and raining outside. We will finish breakfast and be on the road rain, sleet, or snow. We need to find a bolt for the top of my kickstand. It must of fell out somewhere in Maine. We left the hotel and stopped at an auto parts store to get a bolt for my kickstand. Now we are out of there, on our way to Vermont and back to New Hampshire.
We stopped at White Mountain, which is right off the highway, to take some pictures of a stream with a small waterfall. Guess what? While we were climbing on the rocks, to get to the picture site, myfeet flew out from under me and I slid down the slippery rocks right into the river. I got out and John told me that he saw my switch for my heated vest in the river. I went down again to retrive it but this time my feet slipped out again and down I went back into the river. I got out of the water for the second time and went to go get a branch from at tree so that I could reach the switch. I carefully climed down the rocks where I was able to fish out the switch. It was raining and hailing and I was wet and cold. I also hurt myself, my left hip, my left knee and my left elbow all were hurting. I gained my composure and off we went.
We are now at the Harley dealer in Lebanon, New Hampshire. I took off my shoes and poured out the water. I took off my socks and rang them out. I am hurting but I will be fine. I will try not to complain about it. I will tough it out.
We are now at our hotel in Manchester, New Hampshire the Confort Inn. We are about 50 miles from our next stop Boston, Mass. By the way we had dinner at a great BBQ in Manchester, the name of the restruant isK.C. Rib Shack 837 Second St. Manchester, NH 03120 phone# is 1-603-627-RIBS
