I know I spell like s--t.  I know my grammar stinks.  I know my writing skills smell.  I will now post a blog.

DON'T FORGET THAT IF YOU CLICK ON THE PICTURES YOU CAN ENLARGE THEM

8-16-2010 Hawkesbury, Ontario to Quebec City, Quebec

8:00 am  It is raining right now.  It looks like it will be raining all day.  I will let you know later.

All the street signs are in English and French until now.  Now they are all in French.  One might think that they were in France.  All the people speak French as there primary language.

10:30 am we  stopped at a Harley dealership in Quebec.   Everything is writen in French.

We met up with the people that display Harlies all over Canada at motorcycle shows.  They advised us of an easier route to get to Quebec City.  It seems that the people are nice around here.  The Harley dealer was in Repentigny, Quebec.

12:30 pm we stopped for gas in Trois-Riveres-quest, Quebec

1:45 pm  We are now in Quebec city, Quebec

We are looking for a hotel.  We don't have any reservations.  Looks like a problem.

We traveled 225 miles.

We found a Holiday Inn Express.  It is a beautiful hotel.  We will stay here for 2 nights.

It did rain most of the day.

Day 11   8-17-2010  Tuesday

We stayed in Quebec City, Quebec overnight.  We are going to the laundry mat 9:15 am.  Last night was the first night I had a great night of sleep, yahoo.

We stopped at the Harley dealer in Quebec City, Quebec.  The people here were very friendly, nice, and helpful.  It was very hard to communicate.  We are now having lunch at Tim Hortins a very popular establishment through out  Canada.

1:30 pm  We are now at Costco.  Please view the pictures and notice everything is in French.  Generally everything  is Canadian made.  The manager was very angry that I took some pictures.  He started yelling at me in French.  I continued taking pictures, trying to explain that I just wanted the people in the USA to see the difference.  He finally left me along.  I don't know if we communicated or not, I presume not.

We are back at our room.  2:30 pm

We are waiting for a bus to pick us up at 3:15pm to take us on a tour of the old town of Quebec.  I can not wait.

We are now in route to our tour.  We are driving along the St. Lawrence River.  It is big and beautiful (see the pictures).  There are shipping ships traveling on this river.  It looks more like an ocean .  It runs approximately 1,000 miles.  It is the 4th or 5th largest river in North America, according to our bus driver. Some of the pictures show Maine in the distance.  It is approximately 30 miles across the St. Lawrence River.

We toured old town Quebec (400 years old).  We experienced the European charm of the first French settlement in North America.  We visited the Latin Quarter, Plains of Abraham, Ramparts, world famous Chateau Frontenac,  National Assembly, Basilica, City Hall, Place-Royal, Citadel and a glimpse of modern Quebec City.

We are now eating dinner at L'Astral Bar Restaurant Rotatif.  This restaurant is multiple stories high with a terrific view of the city.  It rotates, similar to the restaurant at the Sheraton Universal in Los Angeles.

10:45 pm we are back at our hotel.  We will leave at approximately 8:00am

If you can not get it going with bungee cords and duct tape it must be serious.
