Day 25 Tuesday August 31, 2010 Terre Haute, Indiana through Illinois to Joplin, Missouri We rode 498 Miles. --------------------------------------------At 7:30 AM we left our hotel The Days Inn and Suites in Terre Haute, Indiana. At 9:30 AM we stopped for gas and we are now in Illinois (a gas station in Highland, Illinois). At 11:45 AM we stopped at a Harley dealer in Villa Ridge, Missouri. At 1:05 PM we stopped for lunch on the historic Missouri Route 66. We stopped at a BBQ restaurant that was not only delicious but a lot of fun. The servers were a wild bunch of girls. We has a great time talking to them. At 1:45 PM we stopped at a post office in Cuba, Missouri. There is now a one hour time change (only a 2 hour difference from home). Ask me what happened to me in front of Fanning Outpost on US Route 66 in the city of Cuba, Missouri and I may tell you the answer in twenty years or so. See the pictures of the outpost, the mural and the big rocking chair. That is where it happened right in front on Route 66. The people that own the outpost are very kind and generous I would recommend that everyone visits them at one time or another. 4:30 PM we then stopped at Ozark Harley to buy some things. At 5:30 PM we stopped for gas in Springfield, Missouri. 6:30 PM we are at our final destination for the night in Joplin, Missouri ( The Hampton Inn in Joplin, Missouri). That evening we were lucky enough to go to dinner with Lane's daughter and new son-in-law. They were married right before we left on this adventure---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
