Day 15  8-21-2010 Saturday / Today we travled 284 miles

We are traveling from Hakifax, Nova Scotia to Digby, Nova Scotia

At 8:00 AM  we are getting ready to leave Halifax.  We all had a wonderful time there.  The country side is beautiful and so are the people, very friendly. We are headed to Digby so that we can take a ferry ride to Maine on Sunday (tomorrow) and we will be back in the good old USA.
We will stop at some point to get a new memory card for my camera so that I can try to restore the pictures that I accidentally deleted from the cameras memory.  I was told by a guest of the hotel, that we were staying at, that if I didn't use the card, that was in the camera, any more that the pictures may be able to be restored.  I am going to try it.
8:30 AM  We stopped at the Citadel in Halifax.  It was the principle naval station in the British Empire and served an important role in the development and evolution of Canada from a colony to a nation.
8:50 AM  We got kicked out of the Citadel because it doesn't open till 9:00 AM.  The doors were open and we went in.  We didn't know it opened at a certain time.  The management told us to leave and to come back at 9:00 AM.  We left and were back on our way to Digby.  We headed down the south shore to the Bay of Fundy, and then to Digby.
I met a plumber while we took a break at a gas stop in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia I told him that I was the owner of a plumbing Co. in the Los Angeles area.  We chatted for a while and then he went on his way.  That was a fun experience for me.
We stopped in Shelbyrne, a Loyalist community that was started in the 1700s.  They were loyal to the British.  This is a well preserved and restored community.  It was very interesting to see a town like this.
5:00 PM we arrived in Digby.  We stopped at a store and I purchased a new card for my camera.
